Qatari weightlifter Fares Ahmed Jaber shone on the final day of the three combined championships: the 10th Qatar International Weightlifting Cup, the Arab Championships for youth, junior, and senior categories, and the West Asian Championships for the same age groups.

The seven-day event was organized by the Qatar Weightlifting Federation.

Fares won 15 medals: 12 gold and 3 silver, in the over 94 kg and 110 kg weight classes.

He secured 6 gold and 1 silver medals at the Arab Championships, 6 gold and 1 silver medals at the West Asian Championships, and 1 silver medal at the Qatar International Cup.

The Qatari weightlifter delivered an outstanding performance, lifting 151 kg in the snatch, 201 kg in the clean and jerk, and achieving a total weight of 352 kg.

Fares excelled in the Arab Weightlifting Championships, competing in the over 94 kg and 110 kg weight categories. In the over 94 kg junior category, he secured three gold medals, surpassing Saudi Arabia's Ali Al Majdi, who won three silver medals (136 kg in the snatch, 160 kg in the clean and jerk, and a total of 296 kg); Lebanon's Mohammad Zeitoun, who earned two bronze medals (127 kg in the snatch and a total of 283 kg); and Morocco's Yahya Jamal, who won a bronze medal in the clean and jerk (157 kg).

Fares The Qatari weightlifter also won three gold medals in the 110kg youth category, surpassing Syrian weightlifter Ali Ismail, who won three silver medals in the snatch (146kg), the clean and jerk (173kg), and the total (319kg), and Moroccan weightlifter Yahya Jirhami, who won three bronze medals in the snatch (120kg), the clean and jerk (157kg), and the total (277kg).

Fares also won a silver medal in the clean and jerk in the 110kg men's category, lifting 201kg.

The Qatari weightlifter won six gold medals and one silver medal at the West Asian Championships, including three golds in the over 94 kg junior category, three golds in the 110 kg youth category, and a silver medal in the 110 kg men's category.

Finally, Fares won a silver medal in the 110 kg men's category at the 10th Qatar International Cup.

Qatari weightlifter Fares Ahmed Jaber expressed his immense joy at achieving this remarkable milestone in his sporting career, having won 12 gold medals and three silver medals in his first official appearance with the national team.

This achievement came across the three championships held in Doha: the 10th Qatar International Cup 2025, the Arab Championships for youth, junior, and senior categories, and the West Asian Championships for the same age groups.

Fares said in rmarks to the Qatar News Agency (QNA) that this achievement represents a significant milestone in his athletic career, especially given the fierce competition in his weight class with top weightlifters at both the Asian and Arab levels.

He added that this accomplishment was the result of considerable work and effort over the past period under the supervision of coach Ibrahim Hassouna and with the support of the Qatar Weightlifting Federation.

He explained that he benefited greatly from participating in the three championships, particularly from the exposure to different weightlifting styles and the acquisition of new experiences that will positively contribute to improving his performance in upcoming competitions.

The Qatari weightlifter noted that his participation in the three championships is part of his training program in preparation for the Asian World Championships and the Asian U17 Championships, as well as his attempt to achieve qualifying times for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
