Ukrainian forces announced on Thursday that Russian aircraft struck Novhorod-Siversky town in Chernihiv region, northern Ukraine.
"Last night, Muscovite bastards launched several airstrikes on critical infrastructure facilities of Novhorod-Siversky town," Ukraine news agency (UKRAINFORM) quoted Head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration Vyacheslav Chaus as saying.
According to Chaus, schools, administrative buildings, and private houses were damaged.
The attacks killed and injured several people. However, Ukrainian authorities have not announced the number of victims yet.
On Wednesday, Russian troops fired mortars on Chernihiv region from the territory of Russia.
Russian armed forces continue to launch attacks in the eastern regions, to establish full control of Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kherson and to maintain the land corridor with Crimea.
