Samsung Launches 'Innovation Campus' in Qatar

In collaboration with the Qatar Ministry of Sports and Youth and Youth Entrepreneur Club, Samsung Gulf Electronics unveiled the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) in Qatar. This initiative introduces Samsung's renowned Artificial Intelligence (AI) course to the country, aligning with Qatar Vision 2030's focus on digital transformation. SIC, a part of Samsung's global citizenship program, aims to support Qatar's vision for the future.

With the theme "Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People," this 3-month course offers a distinctive chance for motivated individuals with a STEAM background (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) to enhance their expertise in machine learning (ML). Participants will gain a solid grasp of the fundamentals of AI and its various applications during this period.

On October 5, 2023, in Doha, Samsung signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Youth Entrepreneur Club, formalizing the establishment of SIC Qatar.

The tailored curriculum of this course will educate participants about the leading tools and applications used in AI and machine learning workplaces. After an initial overview of AI and machine learning, selected candidates will engage with an experienced instructor and participate in live online sessions to gain a comprehensive understanding of technical processes. The course follows a blended learning, self-paced format, providing participants with exercises for each module and access to content presentations and pre-recorded videos that cover topics such as statistics, algorithms, and programming.

Upon completing the course, students will have a firm grasp of the statistical and mathematical principles underpinning machine learning. They will also gain proficiency in using Python and relevant libraries for machine learning algorithms, applying these algorithms to actual datasets, and mastering the process of building projects in accordance with the data science lifecycle. To obtain a certificate of completion, participants are required to attend the course, fulfill assigned tasks, and successfully complete quizzes that assess their progress.

Enthusiastic individuals looking to shape their future can take a compelling step forward by enrolling before the application deadline on November 2, 2023. Spaces are limited, and successful applicants will be notified by November 9, 2023, at the latest. To qualify, applicants must have completed high school-level STEM courses or higher education and demonstrate proficiency in linear algebra, basic programming, calculus, and probability theory.
