The upcoming second installment of the Visit Qatar Kite Festival is scheduled to take place from January 25 to February 3, 2024, at Old Doha Port. A captivating showcase featuring giant kites flown by 60 international participants awaits visitors. The event, supported by its strategic partner Qatar Tourism and hosted at Old Doha Port, promises a unique blend of historical charm and modern allure against the backdrop of the West Bay skyline.

The festival's choice of Old Doha Port as the venue is based on its rich historical context and contemporary amenities. Situated in front of the cruise terminal, the festival is poised to add an extra layer of excitement for international passengers during the busy cruise season.

Spanning ten days, the festival offers a range of activities for families and children. Attendees can marvel at flying displays of vibrant kites, enjoy an inflatable games area by Celebration Palace, explore a diverse food court featuring international cuisines, and participate in free kite-building workshops led by Iqbal Husain. Husain, a seasoned kite-flying professional who recently took part in the 4th edition of the Qatar Balloon Festival, will guide children in using eco-friendly biodegradable materials to create and launch their own kites.

Organized by Safe Flight Solutions, known for the popular Qatar Balloon Festival series, and facilitated through asfary.com, its online platform for booking local activities, this event returns following its successful debut in March 2023. Captain Hassan Al-Mousawi, the CEO of Safe Flight Solutions, envisions these community events playing a vital role in enhancing Qatar's social fabric and fostering cultural exchange.

Expressing his vision, Captain Al-Mousawi stated, 'The first edition of Visit Qatar Kite Festival received a warm welcome from Doha residents, and we have decided to establish it as an annual tradition. This aligns with our country's long-term goal of building a strong and prosperous society that promotes cultural exchange and community bonding.'

The organizers announced that registration for the kite-building workshops will soon be open on vqikf.com. The workshops are free of charge, but due to limited seats, interested participants are encouraged to secure their spots promptly.
