Shabab Oman II
The Omani navy ship "Shabab Oman II" arrived Thursday at Hamad Port, as part of an academic trip to the ports of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
Upon arrival, the student delegation onboard the ship was welcomed by HE Minister of Sports and Youth Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, HE Director of Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ibrahim Youssef Fakhro, HE Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Qatar Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi, and a number of Their Excellencies ambassadors accredited to Qatar. They welcomed the ship's captain, crew, and participating delegation.
The ship is carrying a delegation of male and female students of different nationalities from GCC and other friendly and brotherly countries, including 30 male and female students from the GCC, 11 university students from around the world, and several university academics.
In remarks on this occasion, HE Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Qatar Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi expressed pride at the arrival of the Shabab Oman II, on its fifth voyage, as it landed Thursday at Hamad Port in the State of Qatar, coinciding with the celebrations of the Sultanate of Oman of its 51st National Day on Nov. 18, noting that the ship carries a message of brotherhood, peace, and coexistence among the peoples of the world, extends bridges of friendship, and revives the ancient Omani maritime heritage.
