Souq Waqif Hosts First Asian Nuts & Dried Fruits Exhibition

The inaugural Asian Nuts and Dried Fruits Exhibition has officially opened at Souq Waqif, bringing together 40 companies from seven countries renowned for their high-quality nut and dried fruit production.

Organized by the Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office, the exhibition will run daily from 7:30 PM to midnight until March 10, 2025. Participating countries include Turkiye, Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Pakistan—all recognized for their exceptional nuts and dried fruits, which are highly sought after by consumers.

The event takes place at the perfect time, aligning with the holy month of Ramadan when demand for nuts significantly rises due to their essential role in traditional Ramadan dishes. It also coincides with Garangao, a cherished cultural celebration where nuts are a key part of children's gift bags.

Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi, General Supervisor of the Exhibition, expressed enthusiasm for hosting this first-of-its-kind event, stating:
"We are delighted to launch this exhibition, uniting leading companies from top-producing nations. The timing is ideal, as these products hold special significance during Ramadan and traditional occasions like Garangao Night."

He also extended an open invitation to the public, encouraging them to explore a diverse selection of premium nuts and dried fruits while immersing themselves in the vibrant Ramadan atmosphere of Souq Waqif.

"We welcome everyone to experience this exceptional exhibition, where quality meets variety. Visitors can enjoy a unique shopping experience in the heart of Souq Waqif’s heritage-rich setting," Al Suwaidi added.
