South Korea sealed their place for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Finals in Qatar on Tuesday after overcoming Syria 2-0 in Dubai's Rashid stadium.
Both goals came after the break and that confirmed South Korea's sixth win in eight matches, putting them on 20 points in Group A.
United Arab Emirates are third on nine points with two more matches to play.
South Korea and Iran have confirmed the two automatic spots from Group A while the third placed team will have to face Group B's third placed team, with the winner going on to face a team from South America.
This will be South Korea's 11th appearance at the FIFA World Cup Finals, the first being in 1954. They have also qualified for every edition of the FIFA World Cup Finals since 1986.
