Top 5 Msheireb Tram stations on Downtown Doha

The Msheireb Tram in Downtown Doha (MDD), billed as "the world's smartest and most sustainable fully built city district" is now more accessible than ever.

MDD is the flagship development project of Msheireb Properties, a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation and located strategically in the heart of Doha.

Qatar's latest destination for living, leisure, and business is where I ventured to go out and check especially the Msheireb Tram which is available not only just for residents but also for visitors.

According to MDD the Tram service runs around a closed-loop circuit with a 2.12-kilometer track. Msheireb's self-powered trams has 33 seats with onboard CCTV and WiFi. There are currently three trams going around 9 stops, with a tram arriving every 6 minutes.

The tramway network is one of the core features of MDD, planned to facilitate the transportation of residents and visitors around the city in an eco-friendly way. The MDD trams are fully air-conditioned and incorporate special light-filtering glass panels which inhibit over 90% of the heat from sunlight. The trams are also convertible and can be operated as open-air cars during the cooler winter months by removing the large glass panels. This feature is unique to the MDD tramway system.

The Tram Operational Timings are Saturday to Thursday from 9 am - 12 noon and on Fridays 4 pm - 9 pm.

So take this Tram ride with me as we stop at top five Msheireb Tram stations at the Msheireb Downtown Doha.
