Abha (Saudi Arabia), August 27 (QNA) - Qatar will face Kuwait on Thursday at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City in Abha, Saudi Arabia, as part of the AGCFF U-20 Gulf Cup, which will take place from Aug. 28 until Sep. 9.
Spanish coach Emanuel Infante Mesquita stressed in the pre-match press conference that the tournament is vital for gaining experience and marks the first step for this generation of Qatari players.
He noted that the team's recent intensive preparations brought them to the required level of readiness, while praising the efforts of the tournament organizers and the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF).
Qatar will be facing Yemen on Aug. 31 at Damac Club Stadium, before concluding its group matches against Saudi Arabia on Sep. 3 at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City.
The semifinals of the AGCFF U-20 Gulf Cup will take place on September 7, while the competition will conclude on Sep. 10.
The participating teams were drawn into two groups: Group A includes Qatar, host Saudi Arabia, and Yemen; Group B consists of Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, and Egypt, which joined by invitation after the UAE withdrew from the competition.Â
