UNRWA affirmed that over 300,000 Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip are denied of Education
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) affirmed that more than 300,000 Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip are deprived of education and are facing harrowing war.
"More than 300,000 girls and boys who used to learn in UNRWA schools now grapple with the harrowing war. Their education abruptly stopped, their sense of safety shattered," Commissioner-General of UNRWA Philippe Lazzarini said on X.
"Those who call for dismantling UNRWA are depriving deeply traumatized children of any hope for a better future," Lazzarini said.
"In northern Gaza, once vibrant schools now lie in ruins. Heartbreaking images of UNRWA schools severely damaged or destroyed by this brutal war," he added.
Israeli occupation forces have continued their unprecedented aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, targeting homes and residential properties with their inhabitants inside, destroying buildings and infrastructure, and displacing the residents.
