Under the auspices of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the 9th edition of the "Made in Qatar" exhibition, organized by Qatar Chamber (QC) in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOIC) the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2, 2023.

During the press conference on Monday, HE QC Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani conveyed his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for His Highness's continuous support of the exhibition since its inception in 2009, stressing that HH the Amir's consistent support constitutes a strong impetus for the Qatari private sector, particularly for the Qatari industry - a cornerstone of any advanced economy, especially in light of the myriad of significant developments and accomplishments in recent years by establishing a world-class infrastructure and enacting progressive legislation. These efforts are aligned with the State's endeavors to accomplish the goals set forth in the Qatar National Vision 2030.

His Excellency affirmed that the exhibition serves as a large platform that brings together Qatari industries and products, noting that it aims to bolster the Qatari industry and promote the local product, boost cooperation between the Qatari businessman and domestic companies, and facilitate discussions on potential partnerships and alliances that can contribute to the advancement of the local industry.

The QC Chairman emphasized that this year's edition of the expo follows the dazzling success Qatar achieved in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

His Excellency noted that the Qatari industry has achieved remarkable development and successive leaps and bounds in recent years, thanks to the strong support of the wise leadership. He also stressed the pivotal role of government-provided facilities and incentives in this progress.

His Excellency said that the exhibition is anticipated to feature the participation of over 450 Qatari industrial companies across six sectors, encompassing furniture, food, petrochemicals, services, SMEs, and various industries.

His Excellency further highlighted that the event would see the participation of over 100 productive families to showcase their products in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and Family. Moreover, the exhibition will also witness the active participation of many entrepreneurs who will exhibit their products through a dedicated section of the expo.

The expo aims to provide visitors with the opportunity to gain insights into the products and services within the industrial sector. Participants will have the chance to engage with industry experts and investors, get acquainted with the successful companies operating in the state, and grasp their capacity for expanding activities, enhancing competitiveness, and highlighting innovation.

His Excellency also noted that the expo will feature a range of accompanying activities, including discussion sessions that will focus on the future of the Qatari industry. These sessions will involve the participation of numerous concerned bodies, aiming to boost greater cooperation and communication among manufacturers.

HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani emphasized QC's commitment to developing the national production to meet any shortage in goods and products within the local market and works on encouraging investors to engage in new industries that contribute to the growth of the state's GDP.

For his part, Assistant Undersecretary for Industry Affairs at the MOIC Saleh bin Majed Al Khulaifi expressed gratitude to the QC for organizing the expo, stressing its pivotal role in promoting local products as the ministry is interested in supporting exporters and elevating Qatari exports.

Al Khulaifi also underlined the significance of the ministry and QC's role in enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector, enabling it to manufacture products that hold economic advantages and can effectively compete both domestically and on the international stage.

For his part, QC board member and Chairperson of the Exhibition's Technical Committee Abdulrahman Al Ansari said that this year's edition of the exhibition will be different. He pointed out that the state has built an advanced infrastructure, stressing that this will provide the private sector with opportunities for active contribution to the growth of domestic production. He further affirmed QC's commitment to addressing all obstacles facing the progress of the industrial sector in partnership with all relevant stakeholders within the state.

He pointed out that the expo will be held on an area of 30,000 sqm. He also said that the expected number of exhibitors is around 450 companies, expressing QC's invitation to all private sector companies to participate in this significant event.

The expo primarily aims at strengthening the national industry sector, supporting the state's endeavors for industrial development, promoting Qatari products both domestically and internationally, encouraging the utilization of Qatari-made products, and inspiring investors to increase investment in industrial projects, and enhancing the partnership between the public and private sectors.
