Vodafone Qatar, a Qatari public shareholding company, has signed an agreement with Nokia to modernize its network infrastructure across Qatar, enabling faster, more secure, and more flexible 5G services while preparing the network for next-generation innovations.
In an official statement, Vodafone Qatar stated that the partnership will allow it to leverage Nokia’s advanced technologies to enhance network performance, reduce latency, accelerate market deployment, and improve security through automation and enhanced protection measures.
With Qatar’s ICT sector projected to grow at an annual rate of 8.5% until 2030, Vodafone Qatar remains committed to meeting rising demand for high-speed connectivity, supporting the country’s expanding digital economy.
The Vodafone-Nokia partnership will contribute to network development by enabling smart fiber optic access and ensuring a continuously evolving infrastructure to support the latest digital applications.
HE CEO of Vodafone Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah bin Jassim Al-Thani emphasized that the company continuously embraces emerging technologies to drive Qatar’s digital transformation in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.
By integrating advanced fiber optics, mobile networks, and cloud computing capabilities, His Excellency affirmed, they will continue to upgrade their network to be smarter and more secure.
President of Cloud and Network Services at Nokia Raghav Sahgal praised the collaboration, noting that it reflects the depth and significance of the two companies’ business relationship.
He said that Nokia's cloud-based software solutions are expected to provide the necessary innovations for Vodafone Qatar's network advancement.
