The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has decided that working hours in commercial complexes will be until 2 am at the least during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The decision will come into effect from October 15 and will continue until the end of the World Cup, taking into account the necessary procedures and security and safety rules followed in commercial complexes.
In a circular to directors and operators of commercial and consumer complexes, the ministry said that extending the complexes' working hours comes within the framework of preparations and efforts made in coordination with the relevant authorities to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and in support of the accompanying programs and activities.
The ministry also allowed extending work periods in the complexes for more than that based on the desire of the administration and operational capacity.
The commercial complexes must announce new working hours during the coming period.
Qatar will host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 from November 20 to December 18.
