Tarek Moamen
The Egyptian Tarek Moamen, the world champion, qualified for the quarter-finals of the Qatar Classic Squash Championship, after defeating the Englishman, Tom Richard, by three sets to no return, today in the third round competitions of the championship held at the stadiums of the Khalifa International Complex, Moamen, the third seed in the tournament, succeeded in controlling the match and ended it in his favour, with games (13-11, 13-11, 11-5) in just 29 minutes.
Moamen, who won the World Championships hosted by Qatar in 2019, seeks to advance in the Qatar Classic and win his first title in it.
In a statement after the match, Tariq Momen expressed his happiness at qualifying for the quarter-finals, and said that he faced a strong and stubborn opponent in today's match, which presented a great level during the three games.
Moamen will face in the quarter-finals scheduled for tomorrow his compatriot Mustafa Assal, the seventh seed, who in turn qualified after his victory over his compatriot Youssef Suleiman by withdrawing, after the result indicated that Assal advanced in the result by (13-11, 11-8, 1-2).
