Al Baladiya sets up 15 waste collection points to deter dumping in wild areas
Doha, Qatar - The Ministry of Municipality announced the establishment of 15 temporary sites to be waste collection points in wild areas with the aim of reducing the random dumping of waste, and organizing the process of its immediate transportation and deportation.
During a press conference held Wednesday on this occasion, the Ministry called on the owners of manors and houses to commit to emptying waste inside the fence at the designated collection points, lace recyclable waste (paper, glass, aluminum, plastic) in the designated place inside the fence, do not mix it with other waste, and do not throw away construction waste and old furniture.
It stressed the need for vehicles transporting waste from collection points to be of sufficient capacity, in good condition, closed and equipped with a tight cover that prevents any waste from flying during transportation. The form designated for the transportation process must be filled out at the security gate at the collection points before leaving the site.
Director-General of Al Rayyan Municipality, and head of the team following up on the work of removing random dumps and waste from wild areas Jaber Hassan Al Jaber Jaber said that the establishment of waste collection points comes within the framework of the Ministry of Municipalitys efforts to find a solution to the phenomenon of random waste dumping in wild areas.
He pointed out that a work team has been formed to follow up on the work of removing random waste collection points in wild areas.
The number of which was identified was about 160 points, which were causing distortion of the general view and harming public health and the environment.
The Director-General of Al-Rayyan Municipality stated that it is part of the Ministry of Municipalitys plans towards a safe society free of waste, pollution and its sources, and reducing emissions harmful to the environment, the Ministry of Municipality, in cooperation with its partners in the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), sought to implement this project in a professional manner and crystallize the ideas into a tangible reality that meets everyones aspirations and ensures the safety of the owners of estates, barn houses, and farms in the country.
In the same context, Director of the Public Cleanliness Department at the Ministry of Municipality Muqbil Madhur Al Shammari indicated that the goal of identifying new points is to reduce random dumping of waste, maintain the cleanliness of the wild environment, implement regulations related to security and safety, and requirements in land areas, and collect and transport waste in the same time. the time.
Al Shammari stressed the necessity of not throwing any waste that has a harmful effect on the environment at collection points, and committing to throwing it in the places designated for it, which are: electronic waste, volumetric waste, construction waste, chemical waste, and wastewater waste (liquid waste).
