Community Iftar
The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ), an affiliate organization (AO) of ICBF operating under the auspices of the Embassy of India in Qatar, orchestrated a traditional community Iftar event on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the scenic outdoor location of Box Park, Old Port Doha.
Shri Sachin Dinkar Shankpal, First Secretary (Culture, Education, Visa & Community Affairs) at the Embassy of India Qatar, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Nilanshu Dey (Former President ISC, ICBF) was honored as the guest of honor. Other esteemed guests included Mr. Deepak Shetty (Vice President, ICBF), Mr. Shahabuddin Ahmad (Chairman, Bazm E Sadaf), Tanveer Ahmad (President, Jharkhand Association), Maulana Niyaz Falahi, Janab Rahmatullah Asari Sahab, and Shabbir Ahmad Sahab. The presence of Chief Guest Shri Sachin Dinkar Shankpal, extending warm wishes of "Ramadan Kareem" to all attendees, was a moment of great pride for us all.
The AMU Alumni Association Qatar, a non-profit socio-cultural organization, is dedicated to fostering a sense of brotherhood and promoting community well-being. Its mission is to address the educational, social, literary, sports, and cultural needs of the community.
The Community Iftar event brought together alumni students, families, friends, and guests for prayers, a lecture on Ramadan & Zakat, a catered Iftar meal, and the sharing of homemade tea and drinks during the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is a time when Muslims worldwide fast from dawn to sunset. The breaking of the fast at sunset, known as Iftar, is a significant communal event.
