Qatar Health Centre
The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs announced that the Qatar Health Centre was officially inaugurated in Abobo municipality in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. The center is directly funded by the ministry.
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry highlighted that the project is among various health and development initiatives it implements to support Islamic communities worldwide.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Director of the Ministry's Department of Islamic Affairs, Mohammed Jabr Al Mannai, emphasized that the ministry gives special attention to the implementation of health, educational, and Islamic projects abroad, stemming from its mission to promote cultural and humanitarian development and support sustainable growth within Islamic communities.
Al Mannai added that these projects are intended to optimize basic services, offer an environment conducive to decent living, and bolster Muslim communities' role in their countries, highlighting that this move comes within the ministry's strategy to support health projects, Islamic centers, as well as educational and social initiatives.
He stated that the ministry rigorously counts on in-depth studies in selecting its projects abroad to ensure the effective needs of Islamic communities are met in coordination with the relevant entities, asserting that those projects come at the forefront of priorities, given their fundamental role in achieving societal stability, fostering human development and improving life quality.
The ministry seeks to provide outstanding services that serve Islamic communities worldwide through building hospitals and medical centers, in addition to carrying out educational and Islamic projects and centers that aim to promote humans and boost their role in their communities, Al Mannai underlined.
Those in attendance were the head of the Ministry's Islamic Relations Department, Majid Al Mansouri, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Cote d'Ivoire Mubarak bin Hussein Al Marri, President of the Senate of Cote d'Ivoire and Mayor of Abobo Kandia Camara, several ambassadors and heads of international organizations accredited to Cote d'Ivoire, alongside representatives of government entities.
The center represents a premium adjunct to the health sector in Cote d'Ivoire and encompasses both primary and specialized care, contributing to the enhancement of healthcare standards in the region, thereby undergirding the infrastructure and fostering sustainable development, in alignment with the State of Qatar's vision to promote humanitarian solidarity and meet the essential needs of Islamic communities.
The project manifests the State of Qatar's humanitarian mission through the ministry to implement integrated development projects that chiefly focus on the provision of health, educational, and Islamic services, thereby enhancing the role of Muslim communities in those areas, as well as their stability and advancement.
The center is anticipated to improve the level of health services in Cote d'Ivoire and provide health care for thousands of beneficiaries, positioning it as a vibrant role model for cooperation between the State of Qatar and Islamic communities in various territories worldwide as part of development partnerships that aim to achieve sustainability and social well-being.
