General Authority of Customs - State of Qatar
The General Authority of Customs' Revenue and Post-Audit Section is set to expand the auditing process framework by incorporating initiatives like the Smart Reports program, according to an official statement.
Abdullah Nasser Al Sahouti, Head of the Revenue and Post-Audit Section, expressed the organization's commitment to enhancing post-audit efficiency through specialized training courses and the adoption of electronic transactions with customs clearance companies for quicker procedures.
Al Sahouti outlined the responsibilities of the Revenue and Post-Audit Section, including daily and monthly inventory collection, customs data auditing, ensuring legislative compliance, collecting customs duties and fees, and enforcing regulations. The section also manages customs data, conducts audits, approves temporary input data, and monitors incomplete data.
Regarding tariff items, Al Sahouti explained that verification is conducted by reviewing documents to ensure accuracy in goods' descriptions according to the certificate of origin and manifest. The 'Harmonized System Search' tab in the Nadeeb program is used to confirm proper item classification.
Post-audit activities involve reviewing customs data extracted from the targeting process, ensuring compliance with customs legislation, and validating accurate calculations of customs duties and associated fees.
Procedures for customs data in the set-off system are verified by matching documents with declared information and ensuring adherence to applicable customs legislation through the General Secretary program.
In response to queries about the validity of customs data procedures in the set-off system, Al Sahouti clarified that it involves matching documents with declared information, confirming proper application of customs legislation, and verifying accurate calculations of customs duties through the invoice number in the General Secretary program.
