The countdown to one of the most prestigious events in global table tennis is officially on, as the draw for the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals Doha 2025 has been completed. Held earlier today at Qatar Mall, the draw ceremony attracted widespread attention and was streamed live to fans around the world via the ITTF’s official YouTube channel.
With less than 20 days to go until the tournament begins, excitement is building as players now know their paths to potential championship glory. The seedings were determined using the latest ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking Lists (Week 18), released on Tuesday, 29 April 2025.
The championship will feature five major individual events: Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, all set in a straight knockout format.
In the singles events, 32 top-ranked players were seeded and placed in fixed bracket positions, while the remaining contenders were randomly drawn into the 96 remaining spots to complete the 128-player draw. For the doubles events, 16 pairs were seeded and 48 randomly placed to form a competitive 64-pair bracket.
All singles matches will be played in a best-of-seven games format, while doubles matches will follow a best-of-five games format. Victors in each category will be awarded gold medals, with silver for finalists and bronze for semi-finalists.
