The venue for Expo 2023 in Doha is set to host the Smart City Expo Doha
The upcoming third edition of the highly-anticipated Smart City Expo Doha, a leading urban innovation event in the region and a significant component of Expo 2023 Doha, is scheduled to take place on November 29 and 30 at the Congress Center in Al Bidda Park's Cultural Zone.
Aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030, aimed at advancing the technology sector and staying abreast of rapid advancements in data science, and echoing the overarching theme of Expo 2023 Doha, "Green Desert, Smart Technology," this event will explore the intricate interplay among smart cities, sustainability, and technological advancements.
Hosted by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Smart City Expo Doha will highlight the crucial significance of data, connectivity, and technology in promoting sustainable urban growth and strengthening Doha's worldwide standing in the realm of smart cities. Leveraging the success of prior editions, drawing more than 6,000 attendees from 60 nations, this year's expo strives to pave the way for smarter, interconnected, and sustainable urban environments.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, stated, "Smart City Expo 2023 Doha reflects Qatar's dedication to fostering innovation and cooperation for a more resilient future in global cities. Aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, our goal is clear: to drive practical urban solutions, transforming cities into vibrant, well-connected technological hubs. We aim to establish new benchmarks for sustainable living, integrating technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and machine-to-machine technology, enhancing daily life and business efficiency."
Developed in collaboration with Fira Barcelona International, renowned organizers of the Smart City Expo World Congress, Smart City Expo 2023 Doha will convene global experts to exchange ideas and strategies for crafting a more sustainable future for cities and their residents. Together, these experts will strive to identify actionable solutions for contemporary urban challenges across four key conference tracks: Green Urban Environments, Digital Governance, Cognitive Cities, and Livable Places. Discussions will cover various topics such as energy, environmental concerns, governance, mobility, enabling technologies, quality of life, inclusion, infrastructure, the economy, as well as safety and security.
This edition's significance is highlighted by its close association with Expo 2023 Doha, showcasing Qatar's commitment to advancing sustainable living and innovative urban environments in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
