The Education Above All Foundation (EAA) and the General Directorate of Endowments (Awqaf) hosted a special Ghabga and graduation ceremony at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel. The event highlighted the success of the Qatar Scholarship Programme, reaffirming its alignment with Qatar Vision 2030 by supporting financially marginalized students in their pursuit of higher education.

This year, the programme proudly awarded scholarships to over 100 new recipients while honoring 44 graduates and recognizing 57 students for their outstanding academic performance during the 2024-2025 academic year. Additionally, 14 students from Gaza, who received scholarships in 2024, were commended for their academic excellence in their first semester of study.

With over 500 attendees, the ceremony brought together students, families, faculty members, and representatives from Qatar’s leading educational and governmental institutions. Distinguished guests included Eng. Hassan Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Director General of the General Administration of Endowments at Awqaf, and Mohammed Al Kubaisi, Acting CEO of the EAA Foundation. Their presence underscored the strong support and collaboration behind the initiative.

The evening featured insightful speeches, beginning with opening remarks from Mohammed Al Kubaisi and Awqaf representatives. A key moment of the event was the inspiring speeches from two Al Fakhoora scholars, who shared their transformative educational journeys. The ceremony concluded with a traditional Ramadan Ghabga, fostering a spirit of community and celebration.

Eng. Hassan Abdullah Al Marzouqi emphasized the critical role of endowments in advancing education, stating, “Through our Endowment Fund for Scientific and Cultural Development, we provide educational opportunities across various fields, reinforcing our commitment to knowledge and innovation. Our university scholarship project highlights the vital role of education in societal progress, inspired by the historical significance of endowments in supporting scholars.”

He further noted, “Our funding aims to equip students with the necessary resources for academic success and meaningful contributions to society, demonstrating the transformative power of endowments in education and community development.” Al Marzouqi also expressed gratitude for the collaboration with the EAA Foundation and other institutions, acknowledging their role in strengthening community engagement and enhancing the impact of educational initiatives.

Talal Al Hothal, Director of the Al Fakhoora Programme, praised the continued success of the Qatar Scholarship Programme: “Tonight, we celebrate not just the academic achievements of our scholars, but also their resilience and determination in overcoming challenges to reach their educational goals. Each recipient represents a vital part of Qatar’s future. This programme, aligned with Qatar Vision 2030, underscores our commitment to transforming education and empowering the youth. We are immensely proud to support these promising scholars as they embark on paths that will lead to significant contributions to society.”

Established in 2018 with support from the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs – General Administration of Endowments, the Qatar Scholarship Programme is implemented by EAA through its Al Fakhoora programme. The initiative continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education in Qatar, providing life-changing opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds.
