A delegation from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) visited Doha between August 10 and 15, following an invitation from Qatar’s Safety and Security Operations Committee (SSOC). The visit formed part of the two nations’ ongoing cooperation to bolster major event security in preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The trip highlighted the deepening security partnership between Qatar and the United States, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to sharing expertise and enhancing collaboration.

During their mission, FBI representatives met with their Qatari counterparts to exchange knowledge, evaluate key security systems used during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and explore new avenues for technical coordination to ensure safety at upcoming global sporting events.

Their agenda included tours of Lusail Stadium, the National Command Center (NCC), the Tournament Command Center (TCC), and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy headquarters. The delegation also attended a live anti-drone demonstration showcasing Qatar’s counter-threat capabilities.

One of the central elements of the visit was a technical briefing on QSSIO, Qatar’s advanced platform for real-time intelligence sharing, and its role in supporting decision-making during major events.

This visit formed part of the broader strategic cooperation between Qatar and the United States, aimed at strengthening global safety, stability, and capacity-building through continuous dialogue, innovation, and joint initiatives.
