The French Republic awarded HE Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani with the Order of Arts and Letters with the rank of Commander, the highest of this prestigious Order.
HE Minister of Culture of the French Republic Rachida Dati awarded the medal to HE the Minister of Culture, in recognition of his efforts to strengthen cultural relations between the State of Qatar and the French Republic, in addition to his ongoing efforts to support arts and literature and develop the cultural scene in Qatar. His Excellency has been working to implement a comprehensive cultural strategy to enhance national identity, support artistic creativity, and expand the scope of international cultural cooperation.
The French Order of Arts and Letters was established in 1957 and is awarded to writers, artists, and intellectuals who have enriched the cultural scene with their distinguished contributions. It is a ministerial decoration granted by the French Minister of Culture in recognition of distinguished contributions to the fields of arts and literature.
