Qatar Team
Qatar wrapped up preparations for their Gulf Cup 26 last group stage match against Kuwait on Friday.
Qatar Media Officer Saad Safar Al Kuwari told Qatar News Agency (QNA) the players were in full swing for the national team to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament that run through January 3.
Luis Garcia's side require a two-goal winning margin at the Jaber Al Mubarak venue to advance to the semi-finals, regardless of the result of the Oman-UAE encounter.
However, any winning margin would be enough in case the UAE drew or lost against Oman.
Al Kuwari expressed his confidence in the team's ability to achieve victory.
Making a poor start, Akram Afif's fellows fell 2-1 to Oman following a 1-1 draw in their opening match against the UAE.
The three-time champions are revving up for the game with the whole squad except fullback Sultan Al Brake who returned to Doha for medical examinations over an injury sustained during the Oman game and the duo Meshaal Barsham and Ahmed Fathi who are suspended on yellow cards.
