Street 33
Ashghal opened the interchange linking Al Kassarat Street with Street 33 in the Industrial Area as part of the Street 33 Upgrade Project, implemented by the Highway Projects Department.Â
The old roundabout has been changed into a two-level interchange including signals to streamline traffic in all directions at ground level, along with a 215.70 metres bridge that crosses over the traffic signal to provide free flow along Street 33. The new junction will enhance traffic in the area to accommodate about 16,000 vehicles per hour.
The new interchange will be an important link for commuters from Doha towards Al Kassarat Street and vice versa, serving many vital entities, commercial and industrial facilities in the area, as Al Kassarat Street extends from North to South of the Industrial Area, connecting Street 1 through Street 52.
To complete the improvements of Street 33, a temporary closure will be in place at the old roundabout that connects West Industrial Street and Street 33 for two months’ time.Â
Road users coming from the North of West Industrial Road will be diverted to Energy Street roundabout, while those coming from the South will be diverted to the newly opened intersection at Al Kassarat/Street 33 Junction.
