Opening of the Ecuador Pavilion

Director-General of the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti inaugurated the Ecuadorian cultural pavilion in front of Building 41 in Katara to promote Ecuador's important cultural, tourism, and historical sectors to the fans.
HE Vice President of Ecuador Alfredo Borrero, HE Ambassador of Ecuador to Qatar Pascual del Cioppo Aragundi, a host of ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps in Doha, and an audience of the Ecuadorian community in Doha attended the inauguration.
Speaking on this occasion, HE Ambassador of Ecuador to Qatar Pascual del Cioppo Aragundi expressed happiness at participating in the activities of Katara accompanying the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, thanking Katara's management for its support and cooperation with the embassy for embracing this cultural activity, appreciating its role in consolidating mutual cooperation that contributes to developing bilateral relations.
Furthermore, Al Hikma Square in Katara witnessed the unveiling of two cultural symbols of the State of Qatar and the United Mexican States, one of which embodies the gray whale, a Mexican cultural symbol and the second is the Arab sand gazelle (Reem), which is a symbol of heritage in the State of Qatar, in the presence of Director-General of Katara Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, HE Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, HE Ambassador of the United Mexican States Jose Guillermo Ordorica Robles, and CEO of the Katara Public Diplomacy Center (KPDC) Eng. Darwish Ahmed Al Shaibani.
Thousands of Mexican community in the State of Qatar and fans of the Mexican national football team gathered near the "Birds Game" mural painted by Mexican artist Eva Bracamontes, to celebrate Qatar's hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar while raising their country's flag and chanting slogans of encouragement and support for their team, which is participating in the World Cup.
Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs called on his country's fans and the community residing in Qatar to respect Qatari customs, traditions, and culture. He praised the Qatari people's welcome, generosity, and hospitality, noting that the World Cup is a great opportunity to discover the ancient Qatari culture.
Also, he considered that the unveiling of two cultural symbols of Qatar and Mexico in one place reflects the convergence of cultures and communication between peoples, expressing thanks to Katara for its cooperation and continuous support in embracing Mexican cultural events, appreciating its efforts and great role in building bridges of communication between different peoples and cultures.
