Minister of Labor Says 80 New Electronic Services to be Accomplished By March
HE Minister of Labor Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri affirmed the Ministrys commitment to implementing digital government initiatives, in order to provide a better life for individuals and companies in the State of Qatar, pointing out that digitizing services contributes to achieving excellence in performance to ensure the quality of services and double the benefits for the business sector and workers in the long term.
His Excellency said that the Ministry of Labor launched approximately 55 percent of the services electronically, with the aim of contributing to achieving excellence in performance, speeding up transactions and simplifying procedures, noting that the latest digital technologies in line with the ministry's strategy for digital transformation.
This came in a speech delivered by His Excellency today during the celebration of the inauguration of the cloud computing process within the second phase of the digital transformation project. The project is part of the Ministry of Labor's strategy aimed at accelerating the development of services in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai and senior officials in the two ministries and representatives of private sector companies participating in the implementation of the project.
His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Smaikh Al Marri noted that the Ministry of Labor is working at a steady pace and diligent effort to develop, update and launch nearly 80 new electronic services and transactions by March 2023.
His Excellency praised the tireless efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to develop the communications and information technology sector in the country, which made the State of Qatar a regional center for digital transformation in the region, as well as providing an infrastructure that attracts investment under the auspices of the rational leadership of this vital field.
His Excellency said that the launch of the cloud computing process in the Ministry of Labor to provide fast and reliable cloud services, accelerate the pace of innovation and gain high flexibility, came in line with the efforts aimed at achieving the Ministry's digital aspirations.
His Excellency also indicated that the launch of the cloud computing process at the Ministry of Labor came in partnership with Microsoft and Oracle, by developing a plan based on cloud interoperability, which is the first of its kind to move to a cloud environment in line with the Qatari national policy, noting that the ministry seeks to make all of its services based on cloud computing by the second quarter of next year.
HE the Minister of Labor stressed that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be an exceptional tournament, as it is being held for the first time in the region, appreciating the great role played by the state to make this dream a reality for everyone, noting in this regard the keenness of the Ministry of Labor to ensure appropriate working conditions and living in healthy, safe and secure conditions for all workers.
