Ministry Captures Illegal Street Racers And Spectators

In Doha, Qatar, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) seized two vehicles for engaging in illegal street racing on a main road.

The Ministry released a video displaying two vehicles dangerously speeding down a public road at night.

In the video, spectators were seen gathered on the roadside with their vehicles, cheering for the unlawful activity.

The drivers, along with the spectators, have been apprehended, and their vehicles, including both racing cars and those owned by the audience, were confiscated.

The Ministry of Interior handed over the arrested individuals to the Public Prosecution, which opted to detain them before proceeding with their court appearance.

Both drivers had their vehicles seized, and they were issued fines as well.

The Ministry emphasized that traffic laws strictly prohibit reckless driving, speeding, and racing on roads without proper permits, as it endangers the lives of fellow road users.

Violations of this nature may lead to imprisonment for a minimum of one month and a maximum of three years, along with a fine ranging from ten thousand to fifty thousand riyals, or one of these penalties.

The Ministry emphasized its commitment to taking swift action against anyone found breaching the country's laws and regulations.
