Ministry records 1,400 violations of villa partitions in 2021

The Ministry of Municipality has intensified inspection campaigns to curb the violation of partition of villas and residential buildings, following the provision of Law No. 4 of 1985 for regulating buildings.

The countrywide inspection drives in 2021 recorded 1,400 violations of partitioning villas. All the cases were referred to authorities concerned for necessary actions, the Ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry of Municipality, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior's Departments of Search and Follow-up, Preventive Security and Al Fazaa, has started intensive inspection campaigns across the municipalities, to curb violations of municipal laws, the most important of which are labour accommodations and the building regulations. 

The campaign, which began in Al Rayyan Municipality, recorded 130 violations of the law prohibiting labour camps within family residential areas, 130 violations of the Building Regulation Law, 14 violations of the Law on Regulating Advertising, and 4 violations of the Law on Regulating Food. Explaining the procedures for curbing violations of villas and residential building partitions, the Ministry said that following complaints against erring property, a permission is obtained from the Public Prosecution to enter the property, whether it is a company or a personal property.

In case of non-reconciliation, the violator will be referred to the security agency. The Ministry of Municipality has called upon property owners and tenants to adhere to the laws to avoid legal actions.
