MoEHE Approves Academic Calendar for 2025-2028
The Ministry of Education in Qatar has announced a new school calendar for the next three academic year (2025-2026, 2026-2027, 2027-2028). The Calendar was revised with feedback from the Shura Council to help make school holidays the same for everyone, thus making planning easier for families.
The mid-year break will now fall in late December for all schools, promoting a more unified system. Students will also receive two additional days off during Ramadan in the 2025–26 and 2027–28 academic years, in recognition of the holy month’s religious significance. A new “Test Day – Rest Day” system will be implemented for high school final exams, allowing students a day to rest and review between each test. First-semester exams have been moved to take place before Qatar National Day, enabling students to participate in national celebrations. Additionally, no exams will be scheduled during Ramadan to allow students time for worship and family activities.
The calendar has also been adjusted to create a better balance between semesters and includes an extended weekend after midterm exams to further support student wellness. These changes aim to benefit students, teachers, and families while aligning with Qatar’s long-term vision to develop a strong, knowledge-based society by 2030.
