MoI Urges E-Scooter Riders to Follow Traffic Safety Rules

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) has issued an important reminder to electric scooter users, emphasizing the need to stick to designated scooter lanes and avoid riding in motor vehicle lanes.

The ministry warned that using scooter riders using car lanes not only violates traffic regulations but also endangers their safety as well as that of other road users. The MoI stressed that strict adherence to traffic laws is essential to ensuring public safety for all.

To help promote safe and responsible riding, the Ministry shared key safety guidelines for all e-scooter users:

• Stick to the speed limit
• Use only designated scooter lanes
• Always wear a helmet
• Keep both hands on the handlebar
• Stay alert and watch the road at all times

The Ministry continues to raise awareness about safe micromobility practices across the country as e-scooter usage grows in popularity, particularly in urban areas.
