Ministry of Labor Qatar
The Ministry of Labor's Qualifying Skills Development Department recently concluded a training course designed to develop the entrepreneurial potential of people with disabilities. This initiative, organized in collaboration with the Qatar Career Development Centre (QCDC) and part of the "Empower Ability" Entrepreneurship Edition program, focused on empowering individuals with disabilities.Â
Through demonstrations, practical applications, and career guidance, the training aimed to equip participants with essential entrepreneurial skills, help them transform their innovative ideas into successful ventures, enhance cooperation and communication among participants, mentors, and industry experts, and highlight the talents and contributions of disabled individuals to promote inclusivity and diversity in entrepreneurship.Â
This course is a key component of the "Empower Ability" program, which aligns with the Ministry of Labor's goal to enhance the national workforce's skills. It seeks to empower individuals with disabilities by providing professional training, helping them secure suitable jobs, promoting their independence, and facilitating their integration into the workforce of private sector companies and institutions. These efforts support the Third National Development Strategy's objective of increasing Qatari representation in both private and public sectors.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Labor and QCDC have recently signed an agreement to offer vocational training for people with disabilities, promoting their employment across various economic sectors.
Abdulrahman Telfat, Director of Qualifying Skills Development at the Ministry of Labor, and Saad Abdulla Al Kharji, Director of Programs and Professional Services at QCDC, presented certificates of recognition to participants who met the course requirements and standards. The program concluded with a display of student projects and an acknowledgment of volunteers and program supporters.
