Msheireb Properties and Schneider Electric
Msheireb Properties, Qatar's leading sustainable property developer, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Schneider Electric, a global leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation. This partnership aims to enhance the smart city capabilities of Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD).
Schneider Electric will leverage its expertise in digital automation and energy management to conduct a three-month Proof of Concept (POC) project. This project will demonstrate the capabilities of Schneider Electric’s Smart City Integration platforms. The POC will explore various applications, including traffic management, proactive and predictive maintenance of facilities for corporate tenants, predictive analysis for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) facilities, and corrective decision-making to address individual residents' needs before complaints arise.
Engr. Ali Al Kuwari, CEO of Msheireb Properties, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are excited to partner with Schneider Electric to further enhance the smart city capabilities of Msheireb Downtown Doha. Urban environments significantly drive energy consumption and carbon emissions globally, a trend expected to grow in the coming decades. This collaboration aligns with our vision to adopt cutting-edge tech innovations and sustainable, energy-saving solutions using data analytics and artificial intelligence, providing a seamless and interconnected experience for our visitors and tenants.”
Louie Jarouche, Country Manager for Qatar and Kuwait at Schneider Electric, added: “Schneider Electric is committed to making cities and communities more innovative and energy-efficient. This commitment enables living and working spaces to be sustainable, connected, and responsive to the needs of their dwellers. We are eager to work with Msheireb Properties to realize the potential of smart city technologies in enhancing wellbeing and creating resilient, innovative urban environments of the future.”
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Engr. Ali Al Kuwari, CEO, and Engr. Faisal AlMalki, COO of Msheireb Properties, along with Manish Pant, Schneider Electric’s Executive Vice President for International Operations, and Louie Jarouche, Schneider Electric’s Country Manager for Qatar and Kuwait.
