The Public Works Authority (Ashghal), in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, has announced a temporary closure on a section of the G Ring Road in the Doha-bound direction to carry out essential maintenance works.
The closure will affect the stretch of the G Ring Road between Ras Bu Fontas Interchange and Hamad International Airport Interchange. The maintenance activities will take place overnight over three consecutive days, during which time the main carriageway will be closed, while the adjacent service road will remain open to ensure continued access for motorists.
Closure Schedule:
Friday, April 25, 2025: 2:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Saturday, April 26, 2025: 2:00 AM to 8:00 AM
Sunday, April 27, 2025: 12:00 midnight to 5:00 AM
During these hours, traffic heading toward Doha will be diverted to the parallel service road. Ashghal has urged all drivers to follow road signs, adhere to the speed limits, and comply with instructions provided by traffic officers deployed in the area to manage the flow of vehicles and ensure safety.
The temporary closure is part of Ashghal’s ongoing efforts to upgrade and maintain the road network infrastructure across the country, ensuring higher standards of safety and smoother traffic operations for the public.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and expect minor delays due to the diversion.
Ashghal expressed appreciation for the public's cooperation and understanding, reaffirming its commitment to minimizing inconvenience while delivering vital road improvements.
