Qatar Airways has announced plans to move its global headquarters to Msheireb Downtown Doha in 2025. This major development was revealed during a signing ceremony at the airline’s main office, attended by Eng. Saad Al Muhannadi, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Msheireb Properties.
Located in the heart of Doha, the new state-of-the-art headquarters will span four interconnected towers, just nine kilometers from Hamad International Airport (DOH). Employees will benefit from enhanced accessibility, as the new offices are a mere 10 meters from Msheireb Metro Station, where all Doha Metro lines converge.
A Sustainable and Smart Workplace
The new headquarters is designed to reflect Qatar Airways' commitment to sustainability and technological advancement. It has already earned the prestigious SmartScore certification, a global standard for smart buildings. The design incorporates energy-efficient systems and smart infrastructure to optimize daily operations, including predictive algorithms to address mechanical issues and monitor energy use.
The workspace will also prioritize employee wellness with modern amenities accessible through digital platforms, ensuring a collaborative and productive environment.
Eng. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the importance of the relocation:
“As Qatar Airways continues to grow, we are investing in our greatest resource our employees. This move will enhance our work environment and advance our position as a leading employer in the region.”
Blending Tradition with Innovation
Msheireb Downtown Doha, the world's first fully built smart and sustainable city district, blends Qatar’s rich architectural heritage with modern design. The district holds Platinum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification and is quickly becoming a hub for technology, tourism, and creativity.
The four towers of the new headquarters, situated on Al Nakheel Street, will feature a shared lobby and offer stunning views of Doha’s skyline. Tower A, the tallest in Msheireb, will rise to 20 stories, with Tower B standing at 15 stories and Towers C and D at six stories each. The total gross area of the development will span 51,602 square feet.
A New Chapter for Qatar Airways
This move marks the airline's first large-scale office relocation, consolidating its operations from three separate buildings in the Old Airport area. The relocation reflects Qatar Airways’ vision to drive innovation, productivity, and sustainability while fostering a vibrant work environment.
Eng. Ali Mohammed Al Kuwari, CEO of Msheireb Properties, expressed excitement over the partnership:
