Qatar Customs Warns Public of Scam Messages Impersonating the Authority

The General Authority of Customs has issued an urgent alert warning citizens and residents in Qatar about fraudulent messages being circulated via SMS and messaging apps. These messages falsely claim to be from “Qatari Customs” and often mention fake parcels, asking recipients to update delivery details or pay fees via suspicious links.

In a statement posted on social media, the Authority confirmed that these messages are not from any official source, nor are they connected to any legitimate customs process or partner in Qatar.

Authorities stressed that all official communication is conducted only through approved and verified channels.

To protect the public from such scams, Qatar Customs has issued the following safety advice:

  • Do not click on links from unknown or unverified sources
  • Never share personal, financial, or bank account information
  • Verify messages by directly contacting the General Authority of Customs through their official contact platforms

Residents are urged to stay vigilant and report suspicious messages to help prevent cyber fraud in the country.
