At the conclusion of the 24th Arab Radio and Television Festival in Tunis, Tunisia, the Qatar Media Corporation secured three awards. The event, held over four days under the slogan “Support for Palestine,” celebrated achievements in radio and television across the Arab world.

Qatar TV received the first prize for its documentary film “Museums in Qatar,” which highlighted the unique museums of the country. It also won the second prize for Program Exchanges of 2023. Additionally, Qatar Radio earned the second prize in the “Notable Arab Figures” category.

The festival was attended by representatives from member organizations of the Arab States Broadcasting Union, experts in directing, production, and program preparation, as well as representatives from private Arab production companies and Arab and international news agencies.

Winners were honored at the closing ceremony, which featured the “Spirit of the Arabs” performance by the Arab Symphony Orchestra at the Tunis Opera House. The performance included artists and musicians from 11 Arab countries, led by Egyptian maestro George Kolta.

The event also included seminars supporting the Palestinian cause, such as one titled “The War on Media: Palestine as an Example,” which emphasized the role of Palestinian and Arab media in exposing Israeli atrocities despite efforts at misinformation.

Organized in cooperation with the Tunisian Ministry of Culture, Tunisian Television and Radio organizations, and the Arab Satellite Communications Organization, the festival honored several Arab media personalities and featured 147 entries in its competitions—108 in the main competition and 39 in the parallel competition.

The annual festival aims to enhance and elevate the quality of Arab radio and television production to meet the aspirations and principles of its member organizations. It also seeks to identify and encourage innovative and serious trends in Arab radio and television production, fostering Arab creative talents in this field.
