The Qatar Red Crescent Society
The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) announced on Wednesday that its medical teams in the Gaza Strip have carried out 18,927 medical interventions since the first week of the Israeli aggression.
"Since the beginning of the conflict, QRCS has performed 18,927 medical interventions, including over 3,000 life-saving surgeries as part of the Surgical Operations for Patients in Gaza 2023-2024 project," stated QRCS.
"Despite the increasing number of bombed health facilities, humanitarian efforts will continue to prevent the collapse of Gaza's health sector," the statement added.
QRCS's current focus is on maintaining health services, with their doctors conducting surgeries at Gaza hospitals. These include thoracic surgery, emergency medicine, psychological support, and medical care for endocrine diseases and diabetes.
There is close coordination between the QRCS representation office in Gaza and the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MOH) to ensure ongoing healthcare services at the few remaining hospitals, despite resource shortages due to the conflict and closed crossings.
