Urgent Relief Aid
Two aircrafts from the Qatar Amiri Air Force, a branch of the Qatar Armed Forces, carrying a shipment of aid, provided by Qatar Fund for Development in cooperation with the implementing partner Qatar Charity in coordination with the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Khartoum, arrived in the Republic of Sudan, to support the Sudanese people as part of an urgent relief campaign to address the floods facing the country.
Qatar Fund for Development said in a statement today that the shipment contained 62 tons of food aid and 600 tents to support families affected by the floods.
The statement added that the shipments were received HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Sudan Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Kubeisi, Sudan's Minister of Social Development Ahmed Adam Bakheet, Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, representatives of Qatar Charity and members of the supreme committee for emergencies.
This aid comes within the framework of the State of Qatar's firm commitment to standing by the Sudanese people to deal with the floods and help rebuild the country following the disaster.
