The Qatar Calendar House has announced that on the evening of August 19, 2024, the moon will reach its full phase at a distance of 362.2 thousand kilometers. This marks the fourth full moon of the summer, a phenomenon known as a 'blue supermoon.'
What is a blue supermoon?
A 'supermoon' occurs when the full moon coincides with its closest approach to Earth in its orbit. A 'blue moon' refers to the occurrence of two full moons in a single month or four full moons in a season, making a blue supermoon a rare event.

The blue supermoon will be visible in Qatar's skies from 6:07 pm on August 19, 2024, until 5:33 am the following morning.
