Summer Sports for All 2025
Qatar Sports For All Federation (QSAF) has concluded the Summer Sports for All 2025 Program at Lusail Sports Hall.
The program featured a wide swath of sporting, recreational, and cultural events that drew participants from a variety of community members and wrapped up by honoring 27 stakeholders and institutions, as well as 42 success partners from different ministries, federations, sports clubs, youth centers, and other organizations.
The program gave special recognition to outstanding children participating in this camp and exceptional training programs, including swimming and Muay Thai self-defense.
Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth and President of QSAF, Abdulrahman bin Muslim Al Dosari, expressed his delight at the tremendous success of this program, in terms of record numbers and societal interaction.
He affirmed that the number reached 32-plus participants because the activities were diverse and distributed across over 30 zones at halls, playgrounds, youth centers, and public parks, along with the overwhelming support from the Ministry of Sports and partners' interaction.
This overall program was intended to convert summer break into an opportunity for practicing physical activities and bolstering public health, culminating in acquiring novel skills through capitalizing on leisure time in beneficial activities, Al Dosari highlighted.
He pointed out that the program is part of the ministry's strategy to expand the grassroots of athletes and provide societal platforms capable of absorbing all community members for this goal, noting the terrific efforts of all stakeholders who had the momentum for the success of this program.
Executive Director of QSAF, Abdullah Al Dosari, affirmed that the event was interspersed with over 180 activities, which garnered children, young people, women, and the elderly in a safe and entertaining environment. He added that the camp at Lusail Hall saw the participation of 4,300-plus children, while the program that was jointly organized with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education drew over 1,800.
Al Dosari further highlighted that the program has successfully proved its ability as a perfect platform to spend summer breaks and helped consolidate sports as a daily health activity among all community members.
President of the Qatar Chess Association (QCA), Mohammed Al Mudahka, said he was delighted to be a partner in these successful events. He lavished praise on the efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Sports and QSAF, which have profoundly contributed to organizing terrific programs that incredibly drew record numbers of age groups.
This year, QCA organized a special chess tournament, alongside a comprehensive summer program at the training center, which drew a record turnout from children who approached to learn this kind of sport, Al Mudahka said.
He added that QCA aims to leverage these kinds of events to encourage tilting toward practicing chess.
