The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index opened Mondayโs trading session lower, declining by 55.93 points, or 0.56%, to reach 9,989 points, pressured by losses across most major sectors.
Most Sectors Decline
Market data showed broad-based declines across several sectors.
The biggest losses were recorded in:
Consumer Goods and Services: -0.85%
Banks and Financial Services: -0.72%
Industrials: -0.52%
Transportation: -0.35%
Real Estate: -0.30%
Telecoms: -0.25%
The Insurance sector was the only major sector to record gains, rising 0.29%.
Trading Activity Reaches QR73.77 Million
By 10:00am, trading turnover on the QSE had reached approximately QR73.770 million.
A total of 34.991 million shares changed hands through 4,782 transactions, according to Qatar Stock Exchange data.
Market Under Pressure
The early decline reflects selling pressure across key sectors, particularly consumer goods, financial services and industrial stocks.
Investors will be watching trading activity throughout the session to see whether the market can recover from its early losses.
