With a focus on women’s and children’s health, Sidra Medicine, which is connected to the Qatar Foundation, is significantly contributing to the improvement of healthcare capabilities in Qatar and the surrounding areas.
More than 170 medical residents, fellows, and trainees have been trained by Sidra Medicine since the beginning of its Medical Education program in 2023. In addition to clinical expertise, the program seeks to produce compassionate, community-minded healthcare professionals.
The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education – International (ACGME-I) has accredited 24 of the center’s 41 advanced training programs. Emergency Medicine, Medical Genetics, Pulmonology, Neurology, Hospital Medicine, and Oncology are just a few of the pediatric specialties that are covered in these programs.
Sidra’s Chief Medical Officer, Prof. Ibrahim Janahi, emphasizes the value of developing local and regional pediatric and women’s health specialists in order to deliver care that is both linguistically and culturally sensitive. This strategy encourages sustainable health solutions, builds patient trust, and fortifies the local healthcare workforce.
Additionally, Sidra Medicine is renowned for its outstanding research in areas such as precision medicine and genomics, providing trainees with access to the most recent advancements in clinical and translational research.
Despite the fact that the majority of trainees come from Qatar University and Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, the school draws medical professionals from more than 20 nations, enhancing its standing as a global center for medical education and research.
