Twenty-three students and three teachers worked together to create "The Maroon Legacy", a large-scale fabric portrait of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, put together on the school ground of Birla Public School in Qatar.
The 1000 x 1000-centimeter art piece made out of white and maroon satin fabrics was created on March 24 by Grade VI to Grade VIII students with the guidance of their instructors Regint Varghese, Baiju Joseph and Sreejith CK.
The students took five hours to complete "The Maroon Legacy", which was initiated to inculcate a sense of patriotism among students and show respect to Qatar, on the ocassion of the school's 18th Founders’ Day.
Furthermore, the students who participated in the successful project also had exposure to the world of art and creativity.
Commenting on the work, the school Vice Principal, Co-scholastic, Rajesh Pillai said: “It’s a proud moment for our school to see our children engaged fruitfully in such a creative activity.”
