Huge quantities of imported lemon and potato were removed from sale at the Al Sailiya Central Market after Al Rayyan municipal  authorities found them unfit for human consumption, the Ministry of Municipality said on Monday.

As many as  2,128 kilos of lemon and 1,320 of potato has been pulled from the market and has been destroyed to "preserve the overall health of the consumers", the ministry said in a statement.

Al Rayyan Municipality pulled out a quantity of imported lemons (2128kg) and 88 bags of potatoes weighing 15kg (1320kg) from Al Sailiya Central Market, because they were unfit for human consumption, where they were destroyed in order to preserve the overall health of the consumer pic.twitter.com/pzhWjSR0fX
