The olives contained molds and are unfit for human consumption
DOHA: The Al Rayyan Municipality, on behalf of the Ministry of Municipality, seized and destroyed a large quantity of olives discovered in an unlicensed warehouse in Muaither's southern district.
Among the items seized are various packages of green and black olives packed in 30 barrels with a capacity of 200 kg and 105 barrels with a capacity of 8 kg. The olives seized weighed a total of 6.84 tonnes.
The olives were found to be moldy and unfit for human consumption during the inspection, according to the Ministry.
The necessary legal measures were taken in this regard. The Ministry also stated that these efforts come as part of the continuous follow-up by regulatory agencies on food sale, trading, and storage places, in order to ensure the health and safety of consumers.
