Paris Saint-Germain
Paris Saint-Germain claimed their historic first UEFA Champions League title in emphatic fashion Saturday, dominating Italian giants Inter Milan with a resounding 5-0 victory in the final held at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.
The French giants were dominant from the outset, with Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi opening the scoring in the 12th minute. Desire Doue added two more goals in the 20th and 63rd minutes, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia struck in the 73rd and Senny Mayulu rounded off the rout in the 86th.
The emphatic win marked PSG's maiden triumph in Europe's most prestigious club competition, coming in their second final appearance. Their previous final in the 2019-2020 season saw them lose 1-0 to Bayern Munich at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.
Paris Saint-Germain now becomes only the second French team to lift the coveted European trophy. Olympique Marseille was the first, winning the title in the 1992-1993 season with a 1-0 victory over AC Milan, also at the Olympic Stadium in Munich.
The win cements PSG's place in European football history and caps off a treble-winning season for the club, which also claimed the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles.
