Kuwait will resume commercial flights with India and Egypt, among other countries, while adhering to the COVID-19 measures set by a ministerial committee, a cabinet statement said on Wednesday.

The decision also includes resuming flights with Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal, the government said.

Kuwait may soon open its airport to all countries.

Kuwait Airport is expected to open for direct flights from all countries very soon. Quoting sources, Al-Rai Arabic newspaper reported that a decision would be issued allowing the opening of Kuwait Airport for operating direct flights to all countries, even those previously prohibited.

Getting approval for the vaccination and a mandatory PCR certificate before travel will be the minimum requirement to arrive in Kuwait.

Currently, direct flights to few countries, including India, are banned, and this made the stranded Indians continue their wait even after Kuwait opens the entry of vaccinated expatriates.
