Doha, Qatar: The General Authority of Customs (GAC) has detected an attempt to smuggle marijuana into the country via air cargo.
According to officials, customs inspectors became suspicious of a particular parcel during routine checks. Upon opening the shipment, they discovered around two kilograms of marijuana hidden inside four gypsum decorative pieces.
The GAC called on the public to support the national anti-smuggling campaign “Kafeh” by reporting any relevant information confidentially through the hotline 16500 or via email at kafih@customs.gov.qa
Authorities reiterated their warning against bringing prohibited substances into Qatar, emphasizing that customs officers are equipped with advanced detection technologies and receive ongoing training to identify new smuggling techniques and interpret suspicious behavior.
