Khalil Al Jabir Elected President of Qatar Swimming Association
The Ordinary meeting of the General Assembly of the Qatar Swimming Association today, re-elected Khalil Ibrahim Al Jabir as a president by acclamation for a new four-year term.
Ali Yousef Al Jabir was also recommended as Secretary General, while Ahmed Mohammed Al Nama, Khaled Abdullah Mohammed and Khalifa Ali Al Mohannadi won the membership of the Association's Board of Directors.
Al Jabir, opened the work of General Assembly after completing the quorum with a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and thanked the members of the Association's board of directors and the heads of the clubs swimming teams for their honorable contributions to the development of Qatari swimming and their estimated efforts to complete the 2020-21 sports season in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Al Jabir then reviewed the agenda of the General Assembly and the most important achievements of the current year, which was winning 62 medals, 33 of which were gold, and winning the title of the age groups in the twenty-eighth GCC water games championship that was held in August in Doha, where Qatar won 30 medals, including 11 gold, and won first place for the 16-18-year-old category, in the first Arab Championship for the age groups in the short course (25 meters), which was held in October in Abu Dhabi.
The current status of the budget for the fiscal year 2021 was also reviewed, before the members of the board of directors were elected for the next session, as Ahmed Muhammad Al Namaa won by 12 votes, Khaled Abdullah Muhammad with 8 votes, and Khalifa Ali Al Mohannadi with 8 votes.Â
